Road Safety Mission by Zeal Education Society

The Road Safety Week observance is an initiative at national Level by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Following the initiative of the Central government, Zeal Education Society celebrated Road Safety Week from 11-16 January 2016 at Narhe campus. The week started with “RUN FOR SAFETY’” rally from Sarasbaug to Shaniwarwada at 7.00 A.M, where more than 300 students and faculties participated and took oath to adhere to the traffic rules.
Problem of traffic is a most critical issue while upgrade the city of Pune to be smart city in the global competition and hence on 13th Jan 2016 student and faculties from zeal education society supported the traffic police & department of traffic in general in coordination, support and dissemination of rules at 50 important signals across the city. This activity was very well appreciated and applauded by public at large.
To address the problem of scarcity of the blood in various hospitals and blood banks to save the
lives of road accident victims, a mega blood donation drive was organized on 14thJan 2016, where due to overwhelming response of the student & faculties, 1057 bottles were collected, probably the highest of its kind. This drive was executed in association with Akshay Blood Bank, Pune.
People might not believe what you say but they will certainly believe what you do, which Zeal proved by distributing to free helmets to student to ensure their road safety.
All the above mentioned initiatives were supported by relevant lectures by eminent people in the field like Mr. Sarang Awhad,DCP traffic Pune,Mr.Jitendra Patil,RTO Pune, Mr.Yogesh Bag Dy. RTO, Mr.Pradeep Nifadkar,Social activist,Helmet Pune and Joint Commissioners, PMC,Mr Mulak,Mr Kanade and Mr Suresh Jagtap.
To validate the inculcation of awareness of the road safety, we have scheduled Quiz Competition of road safety rules on 16 Jan 2016. All the social drives initiatives were taken under the able guidance of S.M Katkar, Founder Director, Zeal Education Society and executed effectively by Mr.Jayesh Katkar, Executive Director, Zeal Education Society. All the principal /Director, Staff and Student displayed tremendous enthusiasm in planning, coordinating and participating in all the activities to make this social drive a grand success.
