Pune, 1st September 2022: The incident took place on August 26 when a courier service (Angadiya) distributor’s car was chased after passing the Indapur toll road on the Solapur-Pune road near the speed breaker in Varukute Pati.

 

Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Dr Abhinav Deshmukh informed in a press conference on Wednesday (August 31) that the police have arrested the accused and seized Rs 1.43 crore from the custody of the two arrested.

 

The accused are identified as Sagar Shivaji Heinmane (34), Bal alias Jyotiram Chandrakant Kadam (32), both are residents of Kurduwadi, taluka Madha, Solapur), Rajat Abu Mulani (24), a resident of Barber, Indapur, Pune, Gautam Ajit Bhosale (33), Kiran Subhash Ghadge (26) and Bhushan Laxmikant Tende (25), both are the residents of Lonidevkar, Indapur, Pune. Bhaveshkumar Amrut Patel, a resident of Kahoda, taluka Unjha, District Mehsana, Gujarat filed a complaint in this regard at Indapur Police Station.

 

Bhaveshkumar Patel has a business as a Courier Services Distributor. After taking the parcels from Nanded, Latur, and Solapur, on August 26, around 2.30 am, he left Solapur for Mumbai. At that time, six unknown persons chased the car and came near the car and tried to stop the car with the help of an iron rod. But the complainant drove his car at full speed.

 

At that time, two cars started chasing his car. After reaching a distance of seven to eight kilometres from Varakute Pati village, the accused from one of the cars fired a gun at the complainant’s Scorpio car. In the meantime, a chasing car hit the Scorpia car from the side and stopped it.

 

The accused then started firing on the door of the complainant’s car and stole Rs three crore 60 lakh and 26 thousand. After that, the complainant along with his car was dropped off in the area of Swami Chincholi village.

 

 

 

After the crime, six teams of police were deployed for investigation. Through technical analysis and secret information, the police arrested Sagar Honmane from the Kurduwadi area. In the investigation, two accused Balu Kadam and Rajat Mulani were arrested.

 

 

 

During their thorough investigation, the police learned that three of their accomplices had gone to Rajasthan under the guise of tourism. Accordingly, the police team went to Udaipur in Rajasthan and arrested the three accused.

 

 

 

Rs 72 lakh were seized from Sagar Honmane. Reportedly he hid the money in the room of a brick kiln near his house while Rs 71 lakh and 20 thousand were seized from Rajat Mulani.

 

 

 

The action was taken under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Dr Abhinav Deshmukh, Additional Superintendent of Police Milind Mohite, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Baramati Division Ganesh Ingle. The team included Senior Police Inspector of Local Crime Branch Ashok Shelke, Sub-Inspector Amit Sidpatil, and Ganesh Jagdale, Raviraj Kekare, Tushar Pandare, Balasaheb Karande, Sachin Ghadge, Ajay Ghule, Janardhan Shelke, Raju Momin, Vijay Kanchan, Asif Sheikh, Abhijeet Ekshinge, Swapnil Ahiwale, Akshay Navale, Pramod Navale, Jayesh Patharkar, Ravindra Patmas.
