Rohit Pawar to Join MPSC Students’ Protest in Pune From Sept 26
Pune, 21st September 2026: NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar has announced that he will join MPSC aspirants in a protest in Pune from September 26, demanding action over concerns raised by students regarding the Maharashtra Public Service Commission.
Pawar said he had informed the Pune police commissioner about the planned agitation and urged the police to cooperate with the protesting students. Thousands of aspirants had taken out an ‘Aakrosh Morcha’ in Pune on September 7 over examination-related concerns and had warned of further protests if their demands were not addressed.
The three key demands raised by Pawar are the resignation of MPSC chairman Vivek Bhimanwar, immediate commencement of the promised recruitment of 70,000 posts in 2026, and an examination system on the lines of Rajasthan, under which candidates can appear for examinations throughout the year using a Rs 100 card.
The renewed agitation comes amid concerns over examination transparency, including the cancellation of the Drug Inspector recruitment examination following complaints of a question-paper leak. Bhimanwar has said the incident occurred before he took charge as MPSC chairman and that the commission had approached the police after receiving complaints.
