Rose Society of Pune to organize 101th exclusive Rose Exhibition at Tilak Smarak Mandir, Talak Road Pune 17th and 18th February

Pune: This year The Rose Society of Pune is all set to organize their 101 th Rose Exhibition at Tilak Smarak Mandir, Tilak Road Pune on Saturday 17 th February and Sunday 18 th February 2018. The exhibition will be inaugurated at the hands of Smt Mukta Tilak, Mayor Pune City at 3 pm.

The time of the exhibition for audience will be 1.00 pm to 8.00 pm on Saturday, 17th February and 9.00 am to 8.00 pm for Sunday 18 th February. Roses from all over the world will be exhibited in this exhibition along with some newly invented species of Roses from Maharashtra. This exhibition will showcase more than 2000 roses of different size, shape and colour.
This huge exhibition will have 16 stalls which will put various coloured flower plants, Garden equipments, fertilizers, seeds and pesticides for sale. There will separate stall for rose cultivators from Maharashtra state. The information provided by President of Rose society of Pune Mrs Chandralekha Ramrao Jagtap, Chairperson of Rose Show Mr Arun Patil and Secretary Mrs. Bhagyashree Takale.

At this occasion Mrs. Supriya Gadgil will be felicitated by Late Mrs. Laxmhibai Anantrao Naik Silver Medal at the hands of Mrs. Mukta Tilak, Mayor Pune city, Mr. Nitin Patil will be felicitated as Pioneer Rose farmer at the hands of Mr. Dipak Tilak , Chancellor Tilak Maharashtra
University. Prize distribution for the winners will be take place on Sunday 18 th February at the hands of Mr. Sharad Gatne, Ex President The Rose Society of Pune.

In 1962 some Rose lovers came together and established the Rose Society of Pune by the inspiration from Mr. Jayantrao Tilak, Editor of Daily Kesari and President of Legislative Council.

Every year during the Ganesh festival The Rose Society of Pune used to organise a Rose exhibition in Kesari Wada.

Former president of The Rose Society of Pune invented Polybag method for Rose cultivation. Since then this method proved useful for every nursery in India. Now this method is used all over the world for Rose cultivation.
