Pune, August 2019: Presenting a veritable treasure trove, Jhelum, a multi-brand designer boutique invited Royal Fables, the only authentic platform that showcases the mystical world of Princely India for a one day luxury pop up on 6th August 2019 in Hotel Conrad Pune. The guest of honour for the event was none another than Amruta Fadnavis.

Presented by Kishandas & Co., the exposition brought the fabled jewellery house of Hyderabad to Pune. Jewellers to the nawabs and a brand that has dressed iconic brides, Kishandas also presented their festive collection in association with Plumtin, a couture label from Chandigarh that presents bridal collections that befit an heirloom and are resplendent with the most exquisite embroideries.

Right from 11 am in the morning to 8 pm in the evening, luxury seekers and stylish divas shopped from the royal designers and got fashion ready for the forthcoming festive season. On view was exquisite block prints, synonymous with Royal Rajashtan, elegant chiffons worn by erstwhile Maharanis, weaves from Gujurat, Maharashtra and Benaras that are truly regal and amazing capes, jackets, lehengas, sheraras and poshaks. Crafted in soft silks, gossamer chiffons and easy breathe cotton, the collections recreate the era of regal dressing.

This platform founded by me in 2010 is my way of reliving the regalia of palace dressing, of keeping alive the many masters weavers, beaders, embroiderers, artists and craftsmen who are still working in studios housed within the many forts and palaces of India, “ informs Anshu Khanna, Founder, Royal Fables.

At the exposition, was available cotton classic, hand-blocked; Chiffons, ombre dyed embroidered and lined with vintage borders; Heirloom Textiles handcrafted by traditional gota patti artisans, spun in gold- borders, and weaves. Also was showcased richly embroidered heirloom shawls, Kosa silk dupattas, Phulgars, quilted blankets and Jackets handcrafted from the . of Rajasthan.
