RPF Pune Division’s Dog Squad Nabs Man Travelling With Firecrackers At Miraj Railway Station

Miraj 20th Sept 2023: The Railway Protection Force’s (RPF) Dog Squad has arrested a person from Miraj Railway Station in the Pune division for carrying firecrackers during the journey on Train No. 11411 Parli-Miraj passenger train. A case under relevant sections was registered at the Miraj Railway Station.

According to railway officials, RPF’s Assistant Inspector Rakesh Kamble and other members were present at the Miraj Railway Station with sniffer dogs Chetan and Khandya on the arrival of train to conduct checking as per the routine. During this operation, as passengers disembarked from the train onto the platform, one passenger was found carrying a bag of clothes. The sniffer dog detected something suspicious inside the bag and signaled to its handler.

Upon questioning the passenger, he admitted to carrying some firecrackers in his bag. Taking the seriousness of the matter into consideration, the passenger was taken to the police station and a statement was recorded. A case under relevant sections of the Railway Act was also registered and the officials are investigating further in the matter.

The railway administration has urged all passengers not to travel with items such as stoves, gas cylinders, inflammable chemicals, fireworks and acids during their journey. Besides, smoking should be avoided during train travel to prevent potential harm to life and property. All railway users are kindly requested to cooperate with the railway authorities to ensure a safe and pleasant journey, said officials.
