Pune, 23rd February 2023: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is committed to ensuring the safety and security of railway passengers and property. As part of its efforts to combat trafficking and protect vulnerable children, the RPF Pune Division of Central Railway launched “Operation Nanhe Faristey” – a special drive to identify and rescue children who have been separated from their families due to various reasons.

Under this initiative, a dedicated team called Savitri Bai Phule was formed to execute the operation. Since the launch of the program in 2022, the RPF Pune Division has successfully rescued 286 children from railway premises and trains on the Pune Division. To facilitate the reunification of these children with their families, the RPF has uploaded their information and details on the Track Child Portal 3.0. The link to the portal has also been made available on the official website of Indian Railways.

The RPF works tirelessly around the clock to provide a safe and comfortable travel experience to passengers while also carrying out crucial duties such as preventing criminal activities and rescuing destitute children. Through “Operation Nanhe Faristey,” the RPF Pune Division has taken a significant step towards safeguarding vulnerable children and reuniting them with their loved ones.
