Pune: 34,493 People Got Houses In Seven Years Under MHADA

Pune, 23rd February 2023: Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) Pune Division conducts online lotteries for affordable flats. According to this, as many as 34,493 flats have been distributed since 2016. As many as 4,53,472 people had applied to MHADA flats for the same.

MHADA draws lots for flats. It is available to the citizens of the low and middle income groups at rates below the market rate. Also, houses are provided through various schemes like Comprehensive Housing Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In this manner, the MHADA Pune division has distributed 34,493 houses since 2016. 4,53,472 people applied for that.

Speaking about this, Nitin Mane Patil, Chief Officer of MHADA Pune Board said, “Out of the flats distributed in the last seven years, 11,000 flats under the comprehensive scheme, 20 per cent, have been distributed through an online lottery. Houses are available at a low rate (Annual Schedule Rate – ASR) only in construction cost. It has received a huge response. 15,477 flats were distributed online by MHADA Pune Board during the Corona period of 2020-21.”

Meanwhile, in the year 2016, 2,570 flats were distributed. 3,168 and 812 houses were distributed in two phases in 2018, 4,756 and 2,488 houses in 2019, 5,647 and 2,908 houses in 2021, and 4,231, 2,803, and 5,211 houses in three phases in 2022. A total of 34,493 houses were distributed. Mane Patil also said that a total of more than 4.5 lakh citizens have applied.

MHADA Pune board has drawn lots of 5,915 houses in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad city in the new year. Among them, 2,594 flats under various schemes of MHADA, 2,990 flats under a 20 per cent comprehensive housing scheme, and 396 flats under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have been made available.
