Rs 1000 Crores Notice To Serum Institute And Bill Gates After Man Claims That His Daughter Died Due To Side Effects Of Covid Vaccine

Mumbai, 2nd September 2022: A father of a medical student has moved the High Court for compensation of Rs 1000 crore, claiming that his daughter died due to the side effects of the covid vaccine.

The court has issued a notice to the Serum Institute, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and other respondents. The central and state governments have also been made defendants.

The petitioner has sought recovery of damages from the respondents.

A bench of Justice S. V. Gangapurwala and Justice Madhav Jamdar last week issued a notice to Serum Institute and Gates, along with other respondents, asking them to clarify their stand on the petition.

On behalf of Gates, lawyer Smita Thakur told the court that he accepts this notice. Aurangabad-based Dilip Lunawat has filed this petition before the High Court.

Last year in January, his daughter had taken took a dose of Covishield. However, Lunawat has claimed through the petition that the girl died due to the side effects of the vaccine.

His daughter Snehal was studying in a medical college in Nashik. After the arrival of the corona vaccine, the central government announced the decision to give priority vaccination to all health care workers. Under that, Snehal also took both doses of the vaccine in the college itself. The petition also states that Snehal was told before vaccination that the vaccine is completely safe and poses no risk to the body.

A claim has been made that a false assurance about the vaccine against Corona was given by the Drug Controller General of India, Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and the Central and State Governments. Lunawat has alleged that the health sector officials were forced to take the vaccine quantity.

Snehal had taken the dose on 28th January 2021. She died on 1st March 2021 due to its side effects. He also claimed that the Central Government’s Committee for the Study of Adverse Events after Immunization has accepted that the girl’s death was due to side effects of the Covishield vaccine.

The petitioner said that he filed this petition to get justice for his daughter and to save people’s lives from uncaring government agencies.
