RTO Increase Action Against Private Buses, 146 Buses Penalised in Pimpri Chinchwad
Pimpri Chinchwad 7th July 2023: The Regional Transport Office has increased action against the private buses violating traffic norms in Pune. The special squads formed by the Pimpri Chinchwad RTO have penalised 146 such buses in the last 45 days and a fine of Rs 12.65 lakh has been recovered from them.
According to officials, a special drive was run by the RTO in Pimpri Chinchwad between May 15 and June 30. During this period, a total of 363 private passenger buses were checked by the RTO squads for violation of various norms of which 146 were found in violation.
They were penalised for various violations including illegal transport, not having fitness certificates, non-payment of taxes etc. A large number of passengers travel by the private buses during the summer season as the government buses also operate in full capacity.
