Pune, 8th September 2023- Indian cricket sensation Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain of the national men’s cricket team, is leaving no stone unturned in his preparations for the upcoming Asian Games 2023 in China. Gaikwad recently participated in a rigorous practice session held in Pune, and he shared a glimpse of his batting skills through a video on his Instagram story.

 

This year’s Asian Games are scheduled to take place from September 23rd to October 8th, 2023, in China. Notably, several prominent Indian cricketers, including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami, KL Rahul, and Jasprit Bumrah, will not be part of the Asian Games squad.

 

The Team India senior men’s cricket team for the Asian Games comprises Ruturaj Gaikwad (Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rahul Tripathi, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (Wicketkeeper), Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Shivam Mavi, Shivam Dube, and Prabhsimran Singh (Wicketkeeper).

 

After an impressive performance in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL), Rinku Singh has earned a spot in the Indian team for the Asian Games. Joining him are wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh, who also showcased their talents in the IPL, representing Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, respectively.

 

Ruturaj Gaikwad, known for his explosive batting, has been entrusted with the captaincy of the Indian team for the Asian Games. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is currently in outstanding form and making his debut in the Test format against the West Indies, has secured a spot in the squad.

 

Shivam Dube, a prominent all-rounder who played for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023, has made a comeback to the Indian team for The Asian Games.
