Mumbai, 5th November 2021: The investigation of the cruise drugs case has been taken away from the team of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede. After the arrest of Aryan Khan, many allegations were levelled against Wankhede, who has been the target of NCP leader Nawab Malik.

NCB’s South-Western Region Deputy DG Mutha Ashok Jain has said that a total of six cases, including Aryan’s, will now be investigated by the Delhi team. The investigation of the case related to the son-in-law of Nawab Malik has also been withdrawn from Wankhede.

Nawab Malik wrote on Twitter, “Five cases including Aryan Khan case have been withdrawn from Sameer Wankhede. 26 such cases require investigation. This is just the beginning. A lot more needs to be done to clean up this system and we will do that.”

Reacting to the news of his removal from the Aryan Khan case, Sameer Wankhede said, “I have not been dropped from the investigation. I had given a petition in the court that the matter should be investigated by a central agency. Therefore, the investigation of the Aryan case and Sameer Khan (son-in-law of Nawab Malik) will now be done by the SIT of Delhi NCB. This is coordination between Delhi and Mumbai NCB team.”
