Pune, March 8, 2016: The incredibly popular music band Sanam was in town, for the first time, and delivered a breath-taking performance on the final day of International School of Business & Media’s 13th annual cultural fest-Crescendo 2k16. Punekars flocked in large numbers to witness their favourite musicians.
The highly successful Crescendo 2k16 was a three day event, where more than 100 colleges from across Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore & Delhi, like MIT, Symbiosis, International Institute of Fashion Design, Balaji Institute of Modern Management, participated. The fest provides a platform to channelize the talent of the youth in the fields of music and art. It also includes various artists, international and national, of good stature who perform and inspire youth. The fest witnessed a footfall of around 2000 people over the first two days and the last day of the event which was celebrated as an Artist Night saw crowd of over 5000 people.
The events that comprised this wonderful youth festival included group dances and band competition and Celebrity events. Other events included stage play, inter-college rock band show, theme photography, solo singing, and many more. The highlight though, was the splendid performance by Sanam.
The band that was formed in 2010 has been making waves and has gained popularity all over the country. Sanam is just as famous in tier II cities as it is in metros. Based in Mumbai, the band is a quartet that comprises of Venky S on Bass, Samar Puri on Guitars, Keshav Dhanraj on Drums along with vocalist and the band leader, Sanam Puri – the voice of Bollywood megahits like ‘Lucky Tonight’, ‘Dhat Teri Ki’ from Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and beautiful tracks like ‘Ishq Bulaava’ from ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’. They produced/composed an original song called ‘Main Hoon’ for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ (Sony Music) that received accolades across its multi-language theatre release in India.
They are currently India’s fastest growing indie music artist channel on YouTube with videos crossing 28 million views and close to 200,000 subscribers; as well as a loyal fan-base on social media. Their spirited live performance was a perfect end to ISB&M’s Crescendo 2k16.
