Sanjay Raut Criticizes BJP Over Allegations on Ajit Pawar Following His Funeral
Mumbai, 29th January 2026: Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut criticized the BJP on social media following the state funeral of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in Baramati. Pawar, who tragically died in a plane crash on January 28, was laid to rest on January 29 in a ceremony attended by thousands of mourners, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and other state and central dignitaries.
In a post on his X account, Raut questioned the sincerity of the BJP’s gesture of publishing full-page newspaper advertisements across Maharashtra in Pawar’s memory. He wrote: “BJP has gone to great lengths! They have filled pages in newspapers to pay homage to Dada, but what will come of it?”
Raut demanded that the BJP-led central and state governments withdraw the Rs 70,000 crore financial allegations leveled against Pawar, calling this step the true tribute to the late leader. He argued that merely publishing advertisements does not sufficiently honour Pawar’s legacy and urged the BJP to take concrete action by retracting the charges.
Raut’s social media post has sparked debate, highlighting ongoing political discussions surrounding Pawar’s legacy and the unresolved financial allegations against him.
