SARASWATI VISHWA-VIDYALAYA NATIONAL SCHOOL HONOURED WITH SWACHHAGRAHA AWARD

Talawade: Saraswati Vishwa-Vidyalaya National School was honoured with the State Level Swachhagraha Award. Dal Member Adarsh Chaurasiya of grade 9th was bestowed with the Best Essay Award on the State Level.

In the gracious presence of Mr. Dnyaneshwar Molak – Head of Department of Solid Waste Management, Pune Municipal Corporation; Assistant Commissioner Suresh Jagtap; Education Minister Shivaji Daundkar the school and students were given the laurels. Mrs. Shubha Nair and Mrs. Mukta Kulkarni the in-charge teacher leading the students were present on the occasion to receive the Award.

Swachhagraha is an initiative by the Adani Foundation towards the movement of creating a Culture of Cleanliness inspired by the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This program was started with an objective to encourage cleanliness in school surrounding and to spread awareness among the common people with the help of students. It was commenced in Saraswati Vishwa-Vidyalaya National School since 2017-18. The activities were conducted by 20 Dal members of grade 8th & 9th to show the significance of spreading awareness of cleanliness. Principal Mrs. Kshama Garge Ma’am motivated the Dal members throughout the year.

Dal members were lead performers of the activities. They worked to the best for their competence. The activities such as Swachhagraha wall making, Selfie with Safai ke Sitare, Nukkad Natak on importance of cleanliness in society, Video and PPT presentation on dignity of labour, interaction with cleaning staff, maintaining clean toilet at home and at school, enactment on use of toilet, skit on toilet cleanliness, handmade soap making activity were conducted throughout the year . Dal members actively got themselves involved in all the activities.
