Pune, 2nd April 2026: Mid-fielder Sarth Shinde of Sangli will lead an 18-man Hockey Maharashtra squad at the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2026 to be played at Rajgir, Bihar from 1st to 12th April, 2026.

The team was announced after a selection trial for all girls in the state was conducted at the Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri. The team was announced by Manoj Bhore, Senior Vice President, Hockey Maharashtra who is also Associate Vice President, Hockey India.

Hockey Maharashtra find themselves placed in Pool-A in the elite Division ‘A’, along with Hockey Punjab and Hockey Chandigarh.

Team Hockey Maharashtra is dominated by seven Mumbai players, three from Sangli, two each from Pune, Nanded while one each from Nashik, Kolhapur, Jalgaon and Nagpur comprise the squad of 18-members.

Hockey Maharashtra begin the campaign on 5th April when they take on Hockey Punjab and later on 6th April play Hockey Chandigarh.
