Schedule for 63rd Maharashtra Kesari wrestling competition announced

Pune, December 30, 2019: The schedule for the prestigious Maharashtra Kesari wrestling competition was announced today. The competition organized by Maharashtra State Wrestling Association and City Corporation Limited (Developers of Amanora Township) will be held at Shivachatrapati Krida Sankul, Mhalunge, Balewadi between January 2 and January 7, 2020.

Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister, Maharashtra will inaugurate the competition on January 3 at 6 pm, while the closing ceremony of the contest will be held on January 7 at 5pm in presence of Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister, Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar, President, Maharashtra State Wrestling Association and Founder, NCP and Subhash Desai, Sports Minister, Maharashtra.

This year, the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners in every wrestling category will be awarded with cash prizes by Amanora- City Corporation. The tournaments will be performed in mud and mat categories with 10 different weight groups, which will include 57 Kg, 61 Kg, 65 Kg, 70 Kg, 74 Kg, 79 Kg, 86 Kg, 92 Kg, 97 Kg and one Maharahtra Kesari weight category. Over 900 wrestlers will participate in the competitions along with 125 referees at the tournament.

The detailed schedule of Maharashtra Kesari is as follows-

January 2, 2019-
10 am- Arrival of the technical staff
11 am to 1am and 3pm to 5 pm- Workshop for referees
All the city and district level wrestling teams will arrive before 5 pm
6 pm to 7 pm- Medical check up and weights for wrestling Category ‘A’ (57 Kg and 79 Kg)

January 3, 2019-
9 am to 12 noon- Wrestling competitions- Category ‘A’ (57 Kg and 79 Kg)
12 noon to 1 pm- Medical check up and weights for Category ‘B’ (61 Kg, 70Kg and 86 Kg)
4 pm to 6 pm- Wrestling competitions- Category ‘A’ and ‘B’ (57 Kg, 61 Kg, 70 Kg, 79 Kg & 86 Kg)
6 pm- Inauguration ceremony at the hands of Ajit Pawar

January 4, 2019-
8 am to 12 noon- Wrestling competitions- Category ‘B’ (61 Kg, 70 Kg and 86 Kg)
12 noon to 1 pm- Medical check up and weights for Category ‘C’ (74 Kg, 92 Kg and Maharashtra Kesari Weight Category)
4 pm to 7 pm- Wrestling competitions- Category ‘B’ and ‘C’ (61 Kg, 70 Kg, 74 Kg, 86 Kg, 92 Kg and Maharashtra Kesari Weight Category)

January 5, 2019-
8 am to 12 noon- – Wrestling competitions- Category ‘C’ (74 Kg, 92 Kg and Maharashtra Kesari Weight Category)
12 noon to 1 pm- Medical check up and weights for Category ‘D’ (65 Kg, 97 Kg)
4 pm to 7 pm- Wrestling competitions- Category ‘C’ and ‘D’ (65 Kg, 74 Kg, 92 Kg, 97 Kg and Maharashtra Kesari Weight Category)
