Schedule of India’s tour of Sri Lanka confirmed, Rahul Dravid will be coach of Indian team

New Delhi, 7th June 2021: The schedule for the limited-over series against Sri Lanka in July has been confirmed. The Indian team will play a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches on this tour of Sri Lanka.

 

Players who have gone to the World Test Championship final and England tour will not be a part of this series. The BCCI will send India’s B team on this tour, in which many young players can get a chance.

The tour will begin with the ODI series, the first match of which will be played on July 13. Former India captain Rahul Dravid will be seen as the head coach of Team India on this tour.

 

Sony Sports Network, the host broadcaster of the India and Sri Lanka series, tweeted on Monday and informed about the tour schedule. The first match of the ODI series against India and Sri Lanka will be played on July 13, while the second will be held on July 16 and the third on July 18. After this, Team India will play the first match of the T20 series on July 21. At the same time, the second match of the series will be played on 23 July and the third T20 match will be played on 25 July.

 

A BCCI official confirmed that Rahul Dravid will be seen playing the role of the team’s coach during the Sri Lanka tour. Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and Vikram Rathor have gone on a tour of England with the Indian team and that is the reason Dravid has been entrusted with this responsibility. It is believed that in the limited over series against Sri Lanka, many young players including Prithvi Shaw, Jaydev Unadkat can get a chance in this series.
