Section 144 Imposed In Pune Rural Areas, WhatsApp Group Admins Warned After Communal Violence In Some Parts Of Maharashtra

Pune 14th November 2021: In the backdrop of communal violence in Amravati, Nanded, Malegaon, Pusad and Karanja after a march organised by Raza Academy on 12th November to protest violence in Tripura, Pune district administration has imposed section 144 in the rural areas.

 

As per the report of Superintendent of Police (Pune rural) Dr Abhinav Deshmukh, District Magistrate Dr Rajesh Desmukh has imposed section 144 in the rural areas of Pune district for seven days to prevent any untoward incident.

 

The order has come into effect from today and will remain in force till November 20.

 

As per this preventive order:

– No person shall post or share any communal or objectionable content on social media like YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.

– If there is any such post in WhatsApp groups then admin of the group will be held responsible.

– There will be restriction on gathering of five or more than five people at a any place. No person shall organise any
meeting. Also, nobody shall carry any weapon or stick.

– Ban on putting provocative flex or slogans.

According to officials, the order has been issued to ensure that anti-social elements does not take advantage of the situation to incite violence among various groups.
