New Delhi, 13th December 2023: A major security lapse was witnessed today at the new Parliament House, considered one of the country’s safest locations. Two persons managed to breach security, jumping from the audience gallery into the midst of MPs during Lok Sabha proceedings.

A young man approached from behind, infiltrating the MPs, and discharged a spray, filling the entire house with smoke. The identities of these individuals have now been disclosed.

The person responsible for the smoke incident inside the Lok Sabha is reportedly named Sagar Sharma. However, details about Sagar’s origin and the motive behind the incident remain unknown.

Two security-related incidents occurred today in connection with Parliament’s security. In one instance, two individuals staged a demonstration outside the House, chanting slogans against dictatorship. Police swiftly detained them once their protests began.

One of the protestors, identified as Neelam (42), hails from Hisar, Haryana, while the other, Anmol Shinde (25), is a resident of Latur, Maharashtra.

There is speculation that all four individuals involved in both incidents, both inside and outside Parliament, may belong to the same group. Only the two individuals apprehended from outside the Transport building have been taken to the Parliament House police station.

The two youths who jumped from the audience gallery inside Parliament remain in the custody of Parliament House security personnel and have not yet been handed over to Delhi Police. They are currently undergoing questioning by Parliament House security officers.

Various agencies are interrogating them to determine how and when these four individuals reached Delhi. The decision on the charges to be filed against them will be made after further investigation. Due to the presence of media outside the Parliament House police station, the main gate has been closed with barricades.

DCP Rajiv Ranjan Singh of the Special Cell, along with his team, has reached the Parliament Street police station. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) team arrived at the Parliament Street police station several hours ago, working to ascertain whether these individuals are affiliated with any organization.
