Viman Nagar, 12th November 2025: Security measures at Pune Airport have been significantly enhanced following the recent car blast incident in Delhi. Passengers are now being screened at an additional checkpoint before boarding their flights, leading authorities to urge travellers to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departure.

According to officials, airline staff have started conducting checks at a ‘secondary ladder checking point’—located just before passengers enter the aerobridge. This additional layer of security involves screening both passengers and their hand luggage at the boarding gate itself.

The decision to introduce this system was taken as a precautionary measure to strengthen airport security. While the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) already conducts multiple rounds of checks, airlines have now been instructed to carry out this final round of screening before boarding.

As a result, boarding procedures are taking longer than usual. To avoid delays, the Pune Airport administration has issued an advisory requesting passengers to arrive at least three hours before their flight.

“Security at the airport has been further increased for the safety of passengers. Screening is being carried out at the secondary ladder checking point. Passengers are advised to reach the airport three hours in advance,” said Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke.

Airport officials clarified that such intensified checks are implemented only during high-alert or critical situations, emphasizing that the step is purely precautionary and aimed at ensuring passenger safety.
