SEED Infotech and Savitribai Phule Pune University to kick start ‘SEED IT Idol, Pune – 2016’
Pune, 22nd January: The much awaited time of the year has come for the students of Engineering, MCM, MCS, MCA and all other computer related educational programs. The 7th edition of ‘SEED IT Idol, Pune – 2016’ organized by SEED Infotech Ltd. in association with Savitribai Phule Pune University – Student Welfare Board is back to test their computer skills. All colleges affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University are eligible for this competition. The first round of the competition has begun today in Pune.
SEED IT Idol is a flagship initiative conducted by SEED Infotech Ltd. across the state of Maharashtra since past 7 years and due to the very nature of the initiative most of the Universities in the state partner with it and extend all possible support for taking it to maximum number of students. Thus, various Universities partner with this exercise in their jurisdiction.
In Pune, SEED IT Idol is conducted in Association with Savitribai Phule Pune University – Student Welfare Board. The objective of the competition is to judge and reward the knowledge of a student for C Programming and Computer Fundamentals, make them aware of the job opportunities, requirement of skills, etc. in the IT industry and make them adept for competitive examinations for their future.
The registration process for the first round test has already begun and the first round test will continue till Feb 2016. The second round and final round with Prize Distribution Ceremony will be held in March 2016 at the centrally located venue in the city as per mutually convenient dates.
The format of SEED IT Idol is to conduct Round – 1 which is a pen paper test based on the knowledge of C Programming and Computer Fundamentals. This is a 30 minute multiple choice test. Students selected from this round appear for the Round – 2 which will again be a pen paper test with increased difficulty level. Ten Finalists are selected from this round. They are invited on stage and have to sit on the Hot Seat. This quiz is conducted with the help of specially created software for the same.
The topper of the competition is selected as the winner of ‘SEED IT Idol’. The winner along with the two runner ups are presented with latest technology gadgets like Mobile Handsets, Hard disks, Wi-Fi Routers etc. along with discounts on SEED courses and SEED goodies. This is the format applicable across centres and the winners of all regional SEED IT Idols will compete for a ‘SEED Maha IT Idol’ scheduled to be held in Pune in the last week of March 2016. The winner of the SEED Maha IT Idol will be awarded with a Laptop.
Speaking about the initiative Bharati Barhate, Executive Director, SEED Infotech Ltd. said, “We are thankful to Savitribai Phule Pune University for supporting us yet again in our 7th edition with SEED IT Idol, as we feel that there is huge talent across colleges which need to be tapped and made industry ready.” Adding further she said, “Last year we had more than 50,000 students participating from the state and this year our target is to reach out to 60,000 students across Maharashtra. In Maharashtra the SEED IT Idol initiative shall be undertaken in the cities like Kolhapur, Mumbai, Baramati, Solapur, Ahmednagar, Nasik, Aurangabad, Amravati, Nagpur, Dhule and Jalgaon apart from Pune.”
