Separate municipality for 18 villages under Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation

Mumbai, Mar 14, 2020: Out of the 27 villages under Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation separate municipality will be set up for 18 villages, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said in Legislative Council today.

Making statement in Legislative Council today Thackeray said that all party rights protection committee, all party youth morcha and all party people’s representatives have submitted demand in this regard to the government from time to time.

Accordingly the government issued primary notification to set up municipality 27 villages under KDMC limit.

Divisional Commissioner of Konkan Division was directed to submit report after hearing the objections and suggestions on this notification.

Accordingly, Konkan Divisional Commissioner conducted hearing on objections and suggestions and submitted his report to the government.

Considering his report, nine out of the 27 villages under KDMC limit have undergone massive e urbanization. These villages namely, Aajade, Saagaon, Nandivali, Panchanand, Dharivali, Sandap, Usarghar, Katai, Bhopar  and Deslepada are situated to the west of Sheel-Kalyan road. These villages are kept under the municipal corporation limit.

Remaining 18villages namely, Ghesar, Hedutane, Umbroli, Bhal, Dwarli, Manare, Wasar, Aashole, Nandivali via Ambarnath, Adivali , Dhokali, Dawadi, Chinchpada, Piswali, Golivali, Mangaon, Nilje, Sonarpada, and Kole will be separated from municipal corporation and separate municipality will be set up for these villages, Chief Minister Thackeray said.
