Serum Institute CEO Adar Poonawalla Gets ‘Y’ Category Security From CRPF
Pune, 29th April 2021: The Union Home Ministry yesterday ordered that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Serum Institute of India, Adar Punawalla, be given ‘Y’ category security. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will provide the security cover.

Serum Institute is currently producing the coronavirus vaccine ‘COVISHIELD’ in Pune, which is being used in the country as well as being exported.
According to officials, a total of 11 security personnel will provide security to Poonawalla. The security will be provided to him in the entire country.

Meanwhile, Poonawalla yesterday reduced the cost of the vaccine for the state governments by Rs 100 and now the vaccine will be sold to the state governments at Rs 300 per dose.
