Serum Institute Should Give Priority To Maharashtra: Chandrakant Patil

Pune, 23 April 2021: Maharashtra BJP state president Chandrakant Patil has demanded that Adar Poonawalla, CEO of the Serum Institute of India (SI), which is based in Pune, should give priority to Maharashtra in terms of vaccines

At a press conference held in Pune, Patil made the demand and was informed about the measures being taken by the BJP.  “Serum is in Maharashtra and Poonawalla’s family is in charge of it. I can only appeal to Poonawalla that he should give priority to Maharashtra.”

Patil said that BJP is trying to increase the number of hospital beds in Pune. We have asked every BJP corporator in Pune to provide as many beds as they can in one of the covid centres in their ward. We will provide beds and other facilities to these centres. After the Covid period, those things will be given by the party to the hospitals for permanent use as gifts, Patil clarified.

“On Thursday, we inaugurated new beds in three hospitals in Pune”, said Patil.

Raigude, who is a corporator, provided 45 beds, Manisha Kadam provided 30 beds and Manjusha Nagpure provided 25 beds. As he knew that I would provide 40 beds in Sanjeevan, he added 30 beds by himself and now there is a facility of 110 beds, said Patil.
