Seven From Pune Among 25 Dead In Samruddhi Expressway Bus Accident
Pune 1st July 2023: The district collector of Buldhana shared a list of passengers who died in a tragic bus accident reported on Hindu Hridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Samruddhi Expressway earlier today. The list confirms seven names from Pune who have died in the accident.
The deceased from Pune include Vrushali Vankar, Shobha Vankar, Owi Vankar, Kailas Gangawane, Kanchan Gangawane, Sai Gangawane and Rajashree Gandole. The official list of the names was released after confirming the identity of deceased passengers. The local authorities were finding it difficult to confirm the identities of the passengers as all of them were charred to death in the fire that erupted after the accident.
According to officials, the diesel tank of the bus exploded causing major fire after it overturned due to a tyre burst. Only 8 people including a driver managed escape by breaking the window glass of the bus after the accident. Three people are still critical and they are being treated at the hospital.
The district administration has appealed the relatives of the deceased to contact on below contact numbers for help.
