Sex racket busted at Amantra Spa in Viman Nagar

23 NOV 2018 Pune – The officials from the Crime Branch of Pune city police on Thursday busted a sex racket at Amantra Spa in Viman Nagar and rescued three women from Thailand who were forced into prostitution there. The raid was conducted on information received by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bhanupratap Barge.
The raid was done at 7 pm on Thursday. Officials from the social security cell (SSC) and Vimantal police station were present on the occasion. Police seized Rs 4500, one mobile phone and other materials from the spa centre. Now a case has been filed against spa managers Amar Ramrao Dhumal (27) of Mundhwa and Tushar Ashok Bansode (28) of Vadgaosheri.
Police said that the women worked as therapist there and later they were also forced into sex racket.
The team which conducted the raid included Police Inspector Manisha Zende, Assistant Police Inspectors Anita Khedkar, Ashwini Jagtap, and police personnel Nilesh Palwe, Tushar Alhat, Rajendra Nanaware,Rajaram Ghogare, Rajendra Kachre, Pramod Mhatre, Nitin Tarte, Nitin Telange, Nanita Yele, Kavita Nalawade, Geetanjali Jadhav and Rupali Chandgude. Police inspector (crime) Ramesh Sathe and his staffs from Vimantal police station were also involved in the raid.
Police registered the case for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
