Shahi Pheta Made For PM Narendra Modi For His Pune Visit

Pune, 4th March 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Pune on 6th March to inaugurate the Pune Metro. He will also unveil a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Pune Municipal Corporation’s main building premise.
To welcome him, Pune’s Mayor Murlidhar Mohol has asked Murudkar Zendewale to create an attractive Pheta (traditional Maharashtrian headgear) for the Prime Minister. Girish Murudkar, the owner of Murudkar Zendewale has worked for eight days to make a ‘Shahi Pheta’ for the PM.
Murudkar said, “This will be a historic event in Pune Municipal Corporation. A statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be unveiled there. Since it is a hot summer day, it is likely to get hot when Pheta is tied. Hence, it is lightweight and made of silk and cotton fabrics. Materials such as Paithani cloth, zari and Australian diamond are used for this.
A gold plate has been placed on the upper side of the head and it has been given golden water. In the centre, Shivamudra is placed in a pearl sunflower. The characteristic of a sunflower is that it always looks at the sun. A net has been made in the centre so that air can flow in and out of the headband so that he does not have to suffer.”
