Sharadotsav in Pune: GSB Samyukta Konkani Sabha Blends Devotion and Culture in Grand Celebration

Pune, 5th October 2025: The GSB Samyukta Konkani Sabha, Pune, organized a grand Sharadotsav, a vibrant celebration blending religious rituals with a rich cultural program of singing, instrumental music, and dance.

The religious observances included prayers, bhajans, Kanya Pujan, Suhasini Pujan, Shri Sukta Havan, Ramnamtarak Mantra Havan, Tulabhar Seva, Kumkumarchan, Deeplankar Seva, and Ramnam Pathan. Pune residents attended the event in large numbers, thoroughly enjoying both the spiritual and cultural segments.

The Sharadotsav, celebrated in Pune in a manner similar to traditional festivals in Karnataka, marked its second anniversary this year. The event took place at Shubharambh Lawns, D.P. Road, near Mhatre Bridge, and offered devotees a deeply spiritual atmosphere throughout the festivities.

Renowned classical vocalist Pandit Raghunandan Panshikar set a devotional tone with his Bhakti Sudha program, presenting soulful bhajans and devotional songs. This was followed by a captivating Varkari Kirtan by Swati Bharatanand Saraswati Maharaj.

The Swara Naad segment featured melodious instrumental performances by Vinay Rao, while Pandit Suresh Patki enthralled the audience with his devotional singing in the Bhakti Suman program.

In the Devi Swaranjali presentation, the Samyukta Konkani Sabha Shri Ram Bhajani Mandal performed bhajans dedicated to the Goddess. Disciples of Pramadvara Kittur depicted the various forms of the Goddess in a graceful dance performance titled Tridevi Sukta.

The event also included a Kirtan Seva by Divya Shenvi Maujekar, and one of the highlights was the mesmerizing singing of Viraj Shrinivas Joshi, grandson of Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. His performance, titled Bhakti Taranga, left the audience spellbound. Viraj Joshi expressed gratitude to the GSB community for the support extended to his grandfather in the early years of his musical journey and promised to return next year along with his father, Shrinivas Joshi.

The Kadambavana Foundation, led by Rajvardhan K., presented a striking Kalaripayattu-based theatrical performance portraying the various forms of the primordial Goddess, which thrilled the audience with its visual grandeur.

The festival concluded with Basti Kavita Shenoy’s Bhakti Manjiri program, where her soulful renditions dedicated to the Goddess filled the air with waves of devotion and reverence.
