Sharjah Voted ‘Best Cultural Destination’ at Travel + Leisure India’s Best Awards 2024

Sharjah, 24th December 2024: Sharjah, the cultural heart of the United Arab Emirates, has been honoured with the prestigious title of Best Cultural Destination (Editor’s Choice) in the International Destinations category at Travel + Leisure India’s Best Awards 2024. The award recognises Sharjah’s exceptional role in preserving and promoting cultural heritage, making it a must-visit destination for travellers seeking a rich cultural experience.

Known for its vibrant art scene, historic sites, and world-class museums, Sharjah is renowned for its fusion of traditional Arab culture and modern creativity. The emirate’s majestic landscapes – from the pristine beaches along the Arabian Gulf to the rugged mountains and expansive deserts – offer a diverse backdrop to its cultural offerings.

Munnmunn Marwah, COO of Think Strawberries, received the award on behalf of the emirate at a glittering awards ceremony held at ITC Maurya, New Delhi on December 12. Think Strawberries is the official representative of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) in India.

“This award is a reflection of Sharjah’s deep commitment to its cultural heritage and the vision of SCTDA to position the emirate as a leading cultural hub globally,” said Chairman of SCTDA, His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, expressing his joy at winning the accolade.

“As someone who has been closely involved in Sharjah’s tourism journey, I am thrilled to see the world acknowledge the unique charm and creativity this emirate has to offer. Sharjah continues to redefine cultural tourism, blending tradition with modernity in ways that captivate visitors from around the globe,” he shared.
