Mumbai, 22nd October 2025: Actress Shilpa Shetty’s upscale restaurant, Bastian, has become a hotspot for Mumbaikars, with its staggering revenue figures recently revealed by noted writer and socialite Shobhaa De.

Speaking on Barkha Dutt’s Mojo Story, Shobhaa De highlighted the immense popularity of Bastian, stating that the restaurant generates a turnover of ₹2-3 crore per night. “On a slow night, the turnover is ₹2 crore, and on weekends, it goes up to ₹3 crore. I went there myself to see it because when I heard these figures, I said, ‘This can’t be true,’” she said.

When asked which restaurant she was referring to, Shobhaa identified it as Bastian, calling it “the top-notch restaurant.” She added that the new Bastian spans 21,000 square feet, offering guests a 360° view of Mumbai.

According to Shobhaa, Bastian serves around 1,400 customers every night, with two seating arrangements accommodating 700 guests each. Many patrons arrive in luxury vehicles, including Lamborghinis and Aston Martins, and there is a waiting list of customers eager to dine at the Dadar-based restaurant, located in Mumbai’s old Maharashtrian heart.

Describing her personal experience, Shobhaa said she did not see any familiar faces among the crowd. “Out of 700 people, I didn’t recognize a single face. It was all young people, and they were ordering bottles of the best tequila for their tables. Lakhs were being spent on every table, but they were complete strangers,” she recounted.

Shilpa Shetty co-owns Bastian with restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, the founder of the Bastian brand. The actress, who began her career as a model at 17 and later became a journalist at 20, now holds a 50 percent stake in several Bastian outlets across India. In a previous interview, Shilpa admitted that she is among the country’s largest restaurant owners.

Bastian’s blend of luxury, prime location, and high-profile ownership has made it one of Mumbai’s most talked-about dining destinations, attracting crowds willing to spend lakhs on a single night out.
