Shiv Jayanti: District Collector Appeals To Avoid Crowding At Shivneri Fort

Junnar, February 1, 2021: Since the threat of Coronavirus has not yet been averted, the devotees should not crowd Shivneri Fort on Shiv Jayanti. Shiv Jayanti should be celebrated in simple manner by following COVID preventive measures like use of mask, sanitizer and maintaining a safe distance, said Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, District Collector, Pune.

Dr Deshmukh recently reviewed the preparation made by Junnar Municipality for Shiv Jayanti celebrations at Shivneri fort, which is the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

He also reviewed the preparations made by the public works department, health department, forest department and archaeologyology department. The meeting reviewed the electrical system and lighting, toilet facilities, police security, transport system, helipad system. MLA Atul Benke, Superintendent of Police Dr Abhinav Deshmukh, Resident Deputy Collector Jayashree Katare were also present.
