Pune, 2nd January 2024: The Shiv Sena, led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has announced its intention to contest 35 to 40 seats in the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections. City President Nana Bhangire shared this update during a press conference held earlier today.

Bhangire stated that the party will follow the seat-sharing formula used by the Mahayuti alliance during the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. “We are gearing up for the municipal elections by holding meetings at ward and booth levels across the city. Shiv Sena will contest the same seats it contested under the Dhanushbaan (Bow and arrow) symbol in 2017,” he said.

He further emphasized the party’s aim to form a grand alliance government in the Pune Municipal Corporation. “Our focus is on strengthening the Mahayuti in the city and ensuring victory. Several office bearers and former MLAs from other parties are in touch with us, and they will soon be joining Shiv Sena under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde,” Bhangire added.
