Shivarajyabhishek Day Celebrated with Zeal at Savitribai Phule Pune University
Pune, 6th June 2025: Shivarajyabhishek Day, commemorating the historic coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) today.
A floral tribute was offered to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by senior university officials, including Finance and Accounts Officer Charushila Gaike, Dean Dr. Vijay Khare, and Director of the Examination and Evaluation Board Dr. Prabhakar Desai. The ceremony highlighted the legacy of Shivaji Maharaj as a symbol of courage, leadership, and sacrifice.
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, such as Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav, Director and Head of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension; Dr. Harishchandra Navale, Director and Head of the Bahishal Shikshan Board; Deputy Secretary Dr. Munjaji Rasave; Girish Bet; Press Manager Dattatreya Kute; Balasaheb Anthare; and Shivaji Utekar.
Also in attendance were constitutional officers, faculty members, non-teaching staff, students, and representatives of the student union. The gathering paid homage to the valorous life of Shivaji Maharaj, celebrating his heroic acts, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to justice and welfare.
The commemoration served as a reminder of Shivaji Maharaj’s timeless values, inspiring the university community to uphold his ideals in contemporary society.
