SHOCKING: 291 fresh Corona cases in Pune city, 14 deaths today

Pune, May 22, 2020: As per the report released by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), 291 new Coronavirus positive patients were reported in Pune city till 7.30 pm today. Also, 14 patients died while 189 got discharge from hospitals after being cured.

According to PMC, since March 9 the number of COVID19 patients has reached 4398 out of which 2371 have been cured while 241 have died till now. There are still 1786 active patients admitted to different hospitals. They include 169 critical patients out of which 49 are on ventilator support. Out of 1786 patients, 1134 are undergoing treatment at Naidu hospital and other centres of PMC, 154 are at Sassoon hospital while 498 are admitted in private hospitals. Today swab samples of 1735 were collected for COVID test. Till now samples of 38770 people have been checked.

Among the 14 deaths, nine were males and five females, all were between the age group of 33 and 93 years. Apart from COVID19, they were also suffering from other ailments like pneumonia, respiratory problems etc. Two of them were residents of Nana Peth, two from Janta Vasahat and one each from Gultekdi, Bhimpur in Camp, Mahatma Phule Ganj Peth, Kunal Classic in Bundgarden, Ashrafnagar in Kondhwa, Ghorpadigaon, Yerwada near Bank of Maharashtra branch, Orient Residency in Bhawani Peth, Yashwantnagar in Yerwada and Keshavnagar.

In the Khadki cantonment area, out of a total of 31 COVID patients, two have died while 26 have been cured and discharged from hospitals. There are three active patients. In the Pune cantonment area, the number of patients has reached 216.
