Shocking 358 New COVID cases in Pune district, tally reaches 5167

Pune, May 22, 2020: In the last 24 hours, there were 358 new Coronavirus positive patients reported in Pune district which includes Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Pune rural and three cantonments. The report was generated at 9 pm today. 218 people were discharged from hospitals while 15 died during treatment today.

Dr Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer (DHO), said that out of total 5167 patients 2770 have been cured and discharged from hospitals, while 257 people have died. There are still 2140 active patients undergoing treatment including 200 critical patients. Most of the patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Till now 38,328 people have been tested in the district and results of 1861 persons are still awaited.

The 5167 patients include 4471 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area, 253 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 216 from Pune Cantonment, 29 from Khadki Cantonment, 2 from Dehuroad Cantonment and 196 from Pune rural areas. In the Pune rural areas,

there are 7 from Baramati town, 5 from Baramati rural, 46 from Daund town, 1 from Jejuri, 1 from Talegaon Dabhade, 61 from Haveli, 9 from Shirur, 1 from Junnar, 4 from Khed, 13 from Mulshi, 26 from Velha, 6 from Bhor, 6 from Indapur, 1 from Daund rural, 6 from Maval, 1 from Purandar and 2 from Ambegaon.

Across Maharashtra, 2940 new Covid-19 cases were reported today. The state tally of COVID-19 positive patients is now 44,582, There were 63 COVID-related deaths in the state today. Death toll in Covid-19 patients has now gone up to 1517, in the state. 12,583 patients have been discharged to date after full recovery.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 118447 across the country. Out of this, 48533 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 3483 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 66330 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
