Siddheshwar wins ‘Man of the Match’ in U-19 ICC WORLD CUP 2020

Pune, January 22, 2020: Siddheshwar Veer student of Sinhagad institute won the title ‘Man of the Match’ with his brilliant performance at the opening group encounter of the ICC U-19 World cup at Bloemfontein, South Africa. He performed impressively in both batting and balling and helped win the match.

He was awarded “Man of the Match” for his rapid-fire, unbeaten 44 runs in 27 deliveries including 6 boundaries and a fantastic six-shot right over the mid-wicket fielder’s head.

Siddheshwar displayed excellent cricket skills in drives, reverse sweeps and boundary shot right over the wicket keeper’s head. Veer’s performance in batting and bowling was a game-changer for team India, leading to a 90 runs victory over Sri Lanka.

Siddheshwar thanked all his professors and the sports facilities of his college. He gave all the credit to his father and mother. His father gave up his advocate profession so that he could coach his son for cricket. He is grateful for his father who took him for daily practice and always kept him motivated.

He comes from Bhor in Pune district of Maharashtra State. He is studying Bachelor of Commerce from Sinhagad Institute. For the last 6 years, he has been representing Maharashtra in the under-14, under-16 and under-19 teams.
