Sinhagad Group Wins Overall Title at 39th District Sports Competition of Pune Rural Police
Pune, 14th October 2025: The 39th District Sports Competition organized by the Pune Rural Police concluded on a high note on Monday (October 13) at the Police Headquarters ground. The Sinhagad group emerged as the overall champions amid cheers and celebration.
The three-day event, held from October 11 to 13, saw the participation of 109 police personnel competing in 21 team and individual sporting disciplines. The spirited contest highlighted the athletic skills, teamwork, and camaraderie among members of the rural police force.
The closing ceremony was graced by District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Special Inspector General of Police (Kolhapur Range) Sunil Phulari, Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, and Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Gajanan Patil.
Addressing the gathering, Special IG Sunil Phulari congratulated the winners and announced that the upcoming Kolhapur Zonal Sports Competition will also be hosted by the Pune Rural Police. “Our players should demonstrate the same spirit and excellence at the zonal level and bring more glory to the district,” Phulari said.
Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill emphasized the importance of fitness and teamwork in policing. “Sports build physical fitness, enthusiasm, team spirit, and mental stability. These qualities strengthen unity and coordination within the police force,” he said.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where winners were felicitated by the dignitaries. Senior police officers, including Additional SPs Ramesh Chopde (Pune Division) and Ganesh Birajdar (Baramati Division), DySP Dilip Shinde, sub-divisional officers, and administrative officials were also present on the occasion.
