30 SEP 2018:  Parshuram Waghmore and Manohar Edave – those arrested in the journalist Gauri Lankesh murder case, raised serious points while addressing the media. The duo said – We did not know those arrested in the case, prior to the arrests. We are being targeted with a pre-conceived motive and the SIT officials of Karnataka are putting pressure on us to sign on a blank paper. The officials have also said that if we admit committing the crime, 25 lakh rupees will be given to our families. We are being trapped in this matter. The SIT officials have also threatened to drag our family members and even kill us, if we refuse to sign on the blank paper. Therefore, if anything happens to us in future, the SIT will be responsible for it, the duo has said.

This completely exposes the Karnataka Special Investigation Team’s ongoing biased and suspicious investigation. In the past too, Manish Nagori and VIkas Khandelwal – those arrested and later released on bail in the Dr. Dabholkar murder case – had made serious accusations on Maharashtra ATS chief, Rakesh Maria of asking them to admit the crime in return of 25 lakh rupees. Similarly, in the Comrade Pansare murder case too, the accused Sameer Gaikwad had been pressurized to give in to the lure of money and admit the crime. And now in the journalist Gauri Lankesh murder case, pressure is being built up on the accused with the enticement of 25 lakh rupees. This makes it clear that, the investigation agencies are forcing the accused by hook or by crook to name Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, in all these murder cases. Who is the person luring Parshuram Waghmore and Manohar Edave with 25 lakh rupees ? Who is hatching the plot to embroil Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti in this matter ? Who is the mastermind, whose invisible hand exists behind all this ? Thereby, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has requested the government to investigate these matters and those found guilty be severely punished.
