Snake venom worth Rs 1 crore seized in Pune

A team from Dattwadi police station of Pune police commissionerate on Friday arrested two men and claimed to have recovered 550 ml snake venom estimated to be worth Rs 1 crore from their possession.

The recovery was made following tip-off received by Police Naik Ravindra Fulpagare.

The arrested accused has been identified as Mahesh Suresh Patil, a resident of Ghodkenagar, Ichalkaranji and Vijay Rajaram Kumbhar of Harli Khurd, Gadhinglaj, in Kolhapur district.

Further investigations are on to find out from where the obtained the venom and who are their accomplices.
