Some Relaxations In Lockdown Restrictions In Pune Expected From Monday

Pune, 7th August 2021: After demands from various quarters for relaxation in lockdown restrictions in Pune, the Maharashtra state government is expected to make a decision tomorrow (Sunday).

Sources said that a meeting in this regard is expected to be chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who is also the Guardian Minister of Pune District, on Sunday.

Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol has already written to the state government demanding relaxation in lockdown restrictions as the Coronavirus disease (COVID19) positivity rate has been below 4% for the last few weeks. The traders’ associations have also agitated demanding extension of business hours from current 4 pm to 8 pm.

Sources said that Pawar had a discussion with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray about easing restrictions in Pune on the lines of those in Mumbai. A decision will be announced on Sunday about the restrictions, sources informed.
