Viman Nagar, 20th January 2024: Travelers arriving at the Pune airport will soon benefit from improved transportation options, as two low-floor buses will be available to ferry them to the multilevel car parking at Aeromall directly from the arrival gate once the new terminal building becomes operational.

Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke assured passengers that a comprehensive entry-exit plan for the new terminal building is in the works to minimize the inconvenience faced by flyers. Low-floor buses, commonly used at various airports to transport passengers between aircraft and terminal buildings, have been selected for this purpose. The design of these buses ensures that travelers can easily stow their luggage without any complications.

The eagerly anticipated new terminal building of Pune Airport is expected to be commissioned by late February or early March, featuring two arrivals gates for increased operational efficiency.

Dhoke outlined the plan for the shuttle service between the arrival area and Aeromall, emphasizing that buses with a capacity ranging from 30 to 45 passengers are being sought. Additionally, the pathway from the arrival area to Aeromall will be widened to facilitate smoother passenger movement. The airport also plans to augment the number of carts dedicated to ferrying passengers to Aeromall from the arrival area to a total of 10.

To further enhance connectivity, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is in the process of constructing a road that will link the terminal building to Viman Nagar. Dhoke anticipates the completion of this road within the next fortnight.
