SP College introduces online certificate course “Ayurveda and Yoga for Good Life” in collaboration with Home Yoga Guru
Pune. August 6, 2020: For over 100 years, Sir Parashurambhau College has remained as an iconic institution of learning for students of Graduate, Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies. In tune with the times, SP College has recently launched its ‘Open Learning Programs’- and today announced its new course “Ayurveda and Yoga for Good Life”. In doing so, SP College has collaborated with Pune based Home Yoga Guru, an organization dedicated to the spread of Yoga-Ayurveda and allied practices at a global scale.
SP College’s Principal Dr. D. N. Sheth elaborated upon the context of this course: “The global pandemic has brought the focus of humanity back to the basics of health and wellbeing. In this situation, the role of Ayurveda and Yoga, are gaining appreciation with the backdrop of western medical practices. In order to integrate these deep-rooted sciences into our life, we need to understand the foundations of these systems, better. This is where the course: ‘Ayurveda and Yoga for Good Life’ comes in handy.”
The course “Ayurveda and Yoga for Good Life” has been designed to provide an understanding of the ancient system of holistic well-being. The curriculum rests upon the ancient texts of classical Yoga and Ayurveda, presented in a modern manner, relevant to contemporary times.
Open to curious learners from all walks of life, this 15-session course will enable a personal exploration of these disciplines and application in modern context.
The course is being conducted by Dr. Anuradha Bhonsale Dewan, Co-Founder of Home Yoga Guru. Dr. Dewan holds a PhD. in Indian Philosophy and has 15 years of experience as teacher, newspaper columnist and a scholar of Yoga-Ayurveda.
