Special event ‘Tu Suryache Tej’ dedicated to Veer Savarkar on May 28

Pune, May 23, 2023: Conceptualized by Chidambar Kotibhaskar, a special event ‘Tu Surache Tej’ dedicated to Swatantraveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar will be held on his birth anniversary May 28 at Pandit Farms, DP Road in Karvenagar from 9.30 AM to 10 PM.

Five different programmes will be held as part of the special event which aims to spread the views and ideology of Veer Savarkar. Ajay Dhongade will be the overall coordinator of the event, while Milind Kulkarni will play the anchor for the entire event. The entry to the entire event is free.

The special event, to be compeered by Milind Kulkarni, will start with a program ‘Savarkaranchi Andamanil Kavita’ presented by Dhanashree Lele at 9.30 AM. Lele will present the poems penned by Veer Savakar and also speak about it. It will be followed with a one-act play ‘Tya Tighi’, which is directed and presented by Aparna Chouthe from 12 noon. Chouthe through the play will narrate stories about three ladies from Savarkar family – Yashoda Ganesh Savarkar, Yamuna Vinayak Savarkar and Shanta Nayaran Savarkar.

At 4, PM, a program titled ‘Sagara Pran Talmalala’ will be presented by Kathak and Bharatnatyam exponents from different city-based organizations, who will play a tribute to Veer Savarkar through classical dance. These exponents from Kalasakt, Kalavardhini, Nilima Productions and Kalanubhuti, will perform on select poems of Veer Savarkar. This program will be moderated by Snehal Damle.

Then at 5.45 PM, young writer and historian Parth Bavarkar will speak about Veer Savarkar’s stay in London, England during a program ‘Savarkarachi London Vari’.

A musical program ‘Swatantryaveera Tuzhi Arti’ featuring singers Dhananjay Mhaskar, Sharayu Date, Nachiket Desai, Ketki Bhave-Joshi will be held from 7.30 PM and the singers will try to unfold Veer Svarkar’s life through his poems and songs. The singers will be accompanied by Niranjan Lele, Prashant Lalit, Omkar Devaskar, Nishad Karalgikar, Digambar Mankar and Hanumant Rawade. This program has been conceptualized by Anagha Modak.
