SpiceJet Cancels Pune-Goa Flight at Last Minute, Leaves Flyers Stranded

Pune, 25th January 2025: Passengers booked on SpiceJet’s Pune-Goa flight (SG-185) on Friday were left scrambling after the airline cancelled the service just moments before its scheduled departure, forcing many to either cancel or reschedule their travel plans.
The flight, slated to depart at 12:20 pm, was cancelled around 11 am. A Pune residentr, who had arrived at the airport on time, said, “I received a call from the airline about the cancellation as I was about to enter the airport. When I approached the airline counter, there were many frustrated passengers demanding answers. The officials only assured us that the fare would be refunded.”
Another passenger, who had planned a weekend getaway, expressed frustration at the situation. “The cancellation left us with no option but to check other flights, but all fares to Goa were exorbitantly high,” he said.
In a statement, SpiceJet attributed the disruption to adverse weather conditions in Kolkata, which affected multiple flights. “Flight SG-185 from Pune to Goa was cancelled due to unfavorable weather in Kolkata,” said a spokesperson for the airline.
The cancellation wasn’t an isolated incident. SpiceJet’s Pune-Delhi flight (SG-184), scheduled for a 3:20 pm departure, was delayed by several hours and eventually rescheduled for 11:30 pm, inconveniencing scores of passengers.
