SpiceJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Pune; Passengers Slam Airline Over Mismanagement, Lack of Communication
Pune, 1st September 2025: A SpiceJet flight from Pune to Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing at Pune International Airport shortly after takeoff on Monday morning, leaving passengers shaken and angry over what they described as poor management and inadequate communication from the airline.
The flight, scheduled to reach Delhi by 8:00 am, returned to Pune around 8:15 am after encountering a technical issue. According to a SpiceJet representative and airport security staff, the emergency landing was a precautionary measure to prevent a potential crash.
While passengers acknowledged the seriousness of the situation, many alleged that the airline failed them after the landing. Advocate Vishal Jadhav, one of the passengers, said travelers were left waiting for hours without any official update or guidance from airline staff. “We were given no information. It felt like we were abandoned in the middle of a crisis,” he said.
Passengers also complained that the airline did not provide even basic amenities such as tea, water, or snacks during the long wait, further heightening their frustration. Videos from the terminal show heated exchanges between stranded passengers and airline staff, with many demanding accountability.
The passengers’ main grievances centered on alleged mismanagement and a lack of transparency from both SpiceJet and airport authorities. Several also voiced concerns that their safety had been compromised due to what they called an unprofessional crisis response.
