Spicer Adventist University Vice Chancellor, others booked in fake PhD degree case

Pune – An FIR for forgery, cheating has been registered against a Vice Chancellor of the Spicer Adventist University, Aundh, for providing fake PhD degree and then job based on that at the university. The incident took place between 2010 and 2013.

The other persons booked by police include the chief financial officer, head of department of Arts, director of Creative Education Foundation (Hindustan College of Management and Research) and others unknown persons who helped in making the forged degree. They have been charged for offences under sections 417, (punishment for cheating), 465 (punishment for forgery),468 (forgery for purpose of cheating),471 (using forged document as genuine) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Allen Almeida (53) has lodged the complaint in this regard. Assistant police inspector D K Kapre of Crime Branch unit 1 is investigating the case.
