Sports Secretary Hari Ranjan Rao Urges Pune Gymnasts to Dream Big for Commonwealth Games 2030 and Olympics 2036

Pune, 20th December 2025: Infinity Gymnastics, Khelo India accredited academy, witnessed a landmark visit today as Hari Ranjan Rao, IAS, Secretary of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, spent the evening at the facility inspiring the next generation of Indian gymnasts.

The visit went beyond a formal walkthrough, serving as a motivational call for athletes to dream bigger and set ambitious goals. Rao observed training sessions, interacted with coaches, and shared a roadmap for the future of Indian sports.

Head Coach Ajit Jarande and Assistant Head Coach Manasi Shevade welcomed Shri Rao and discussed training methodologies, the progress of elite gymnasts, and plans to develop the sport further in Pune.

“Target Gold” Roadmap
In a stirring address to athletes and parents, Shri Rao outlined a timeline for gymnasts to aim for excellence in two major upcoming events:
Commonwealth Games 2030 (Ahmedabad): With India hosting the Centenary Games, Rao encouraged athletes to aim for the podium on home soil.
Olympics 2036: Reaffirming the government’s commitment to bringing the Olympic Games to India in 2036, he challenged gymnasts to become the face of the Indian contingent.
“The road to 2030 and 2036 starts in gyms like this. Aim for the medals, and we will ensure world-class support follows,” Rao said, inspiring athletes to raise their ambitions.
