SPPU Admissions: Pune University Invites Applications for UG, PG, and Interdisciplinary Programmes for 2025-26

Pune, 14th February 2025: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has announced the commencement of online applications for admission to its Postgraduate (PG), Undergraduate (UG), Integrated, and Interdisciplinary Programmes for the academic year 2025-26. Admissions will be based on an Online Entrance Examination (OEE) conducted by the university.
Entrance Examination & Admission Process
Admissions will be strictly based on merit in the Online Entrance Examination (OEE).
The entrance exam syllabus is available on the respective University Department/Centre/School webpage.
The OEE will be of 100 marks, consisting mainly of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with some programmes including descriptive questions.
The exam will have two sections:
Section A – General Knowledge, Aptitude, Logic, and Comprehension (20 marks)
Section B – Subject-Specific Questions (80 marks)
A negative marking system will be applied, with 1/4 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.
The merit list will be prepared based on the total score. In case of a tie, candidates with higher scores in Section B will be given preference. If the tie persists, the merit will be determined based on marks in the qualifying examination.

Start of online applications: 12th February 2025
Last date to apply: 3rd March 2025 (11:59 PM)
Tentative exam schedule:PG Programmes: 18th to 20th March 2025
UG Programmes: 4th April 2025
Exam duration: 2 hours (both sections combined)
Publication of marks: To be notified on the SPPU website
Admit cards will be available for download five days before the exam, and no separate result certificates will be issued. The OEE for PG and Integrated PG Programmes will be conducted online in a proctored mode via Moodle, with further details to be announced later.
Eligibility & Reservations
The list of programmes and their eligibility criteria can be found in Annexure A on the SPPU website.
Final-year students of qualifying examinations are eligible to apply, but their admission will be subject to passing the exam.
Reservations will be as per the Government of Maharashtra norms, including quotas for Persons with Disabilities (Divyang), Orphans, Defence Personnel’s Children, and Ex-Servicemen’s Children.
30% of UG programme seats are reserved for female candidates.
The M.Sc. Virology programme will follow the Central Reservation Policy.
Supernumerary Quota
A supernumerary quota for PG, UG, and Interdisciplinary programmes is available as per University Ordinance 181-A.
Candidates seeking admission under this quota must upload the necessary documents issued by the competent authority at the time of application.
