Srinagar Airport Closed After Operation Sindoor; Flights Disrupted Across North India

New Delhi, 7th May 2025: Civilian flight operations from Srinagar Airport have been suspended following Operation Sindoor. No commercial flights will operate from the airport today.
The closure is part of ongoing operational protocols in the region. The move has triggered a ripple effect across multiple airports in northern India, disrupting flight schedules and inconveniencing passengers.
Budget carrier IndiGo posted on X (formerly Twitter):
“Due to changing airspace conditions in the region, our flights to and from #Srinagar, #Jammu, #Amritsar, #Leh, #Chandigarh, and #Dharamshala are impacted. We request you to check your flight status before reaching the airport. Flights to/from #Bikaner are also impacted by the current airspace restrictions.”
SpiceJet also issued an advisory, stating:
“Due to the ongoing situation, airports in parts of northern India, including Dharamshala (DHM), Leh (IXL), Jammu (IXJ), Srinagar (SXR), and Amritsar (ATQ), are closed until further notice. Departures, arrivals, and consequential flights may be impacted. Passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly and check flight status.”
